    Description

Ruby is a 58ft semi-traditional narrowboat with the ever-popular reverse layout, offering both style and practicality in equal measure. Originally fitted out in 2006 by her first owner, a highly skilled craftsman, she showcases bespoke oak joinery and unique fittings throughout. In 2019, Ruby underwent a full back-to-bare-metal repaint by Fox Narrowboats, ensuring her exterior matches the quality of her interior. Thoughtfully updated and maintained by her current owners, she is a fine example of a go-anywhere narrowboat, equally suited for full-time living or leisurely cruising.

Step aboard into the well-appointed galley, designed in an L-shaped layout with granite-style worktops, a Belfast sink, and a Heritage diesel stove in the Aga style. Practical touches include slate tiled underfloor heating, a new Thetford four-burner gas hob (August 2025), a 12v fridge with freezer compartment, and ample cupboards and drawers, making it a galley to rival any home kitchen. The saloon offers a warm and inviting space, complete with a bespoke oak corner sofa, oak flooring, a Morso Squirrel multi-fuel stove, and a 12v Sharp TV — the perfect place to relax after a day on the water.

Adjacent to the saloon, the dinette provides a versatile dining area with a bespoke oak table and chairs, as well as additional storage. A multi-use cabin follows, offering real flexibility: it features an upholstered bench that can be used as a desk for home working or converted into an occasional double bed when guests come aboard, all while providing excellent built-in storage.

At the bow, the permanent full-size double bedroom feels bright and spacious, with a good range of storage options and double doors opening out onto a generous well deck — ideal for alfresco dining or enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The walk-through bathroom is both practical and stylish, featuring a full-size shower, wash basin, separator/compost toilet, calorifier, slate tiled underfloor heating, and further storage solutions.

Ruby is a stylish and versatile narrowboat, carefully crafted and lovingly maintained. With her characterful oak finish, thoughtful layout, and blend of traditional charm with modern convenience, she offers everything you could want from life on the water.
